TheFlyingCarpet is back with a very special flight.
We are very proud to take with us on the carpet Plunky & Oneness. We interview this eclectic and passionate musician, exploring his life, his career, the Strata East period, the best concert in the 70's, his influences, his favourite musicians, as well as his music.
We will listen "Soledad brothers" & “Nairobi chants“ from the LP of Juju “A message from Mozambique“, edited by Strata East in 1973; “Black experience“ and “Nia (complete the circle)“ from the second Juju's LP, “Chapter 2: NIA“, on Strata East 1974; “High Life“, a song from Pharoah Sanders' LP “ Wisdom Through Music, where Pluinky, here as James Branch is playing the flute; “River Luv Rite“ and some “African Rhythms“ interludes, from Oneness of Juju's retrospective LP ”African Rythms 1970-1982“; the song “Unfunky Ufo“, from Parliament/Funkadelic's LP Mothership Connection of 1976; excerpt of “Lady“, a Fela Kuti song; and finally “Drop-African Rhythm“, from the last Plunky LP, Drive It, edited by Name Brand in 2008.
Enjoy this wonderful trip and come back to visit us soon.
Ps: thanks a lot to Plunky & Oneness and to the Cosmic Groove's staff in Montpellier.
