TheFlyingCarpet Radioshow #10 (5dec08)
December 05, 2008 11:38 AM PST
TheFlyingCarpet of this weekend start with Johnny Harris and his Odissey, from a 1980's 12”of historic TK Disco, and with Brass Construction and “Movin“. We follow to England, where we find Northend with 1981's song Tee’s Happy. We come back to US, to find Arthur Russell, here as Dinosaur L with the classic “Go Bang“, in a Francois Kevorkian mix, from the wonderfoul LP The World of Arthur Russell on Souljazz records. After that, we find the music of Oneness of Juju & Plunky, playing this weekend in France, with Sabi (black fire mix), from the African Rhythms, 1970-1982. Finally we go to Africa to find Konono n.1, the congolese masters, with the powerful Paradiso, and The Ogyatanaa Show Band with his Disco Africa, edited in 1976 by Gore Music in Ghana. To conclude the flight, we meet again the Art Ensemble of Chicago, in this occasion featuring the special voice of Fontella Bass, with Theme de Yoyo, composed for the soundtrack of the 1970's french movie «Les stances à Sophie». Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the trip! |
