For this flight with the carpet we start from London 1971, with a group composed by members form Ghana, Grenada, Antigua, Nigeria ansd Trinidad members: The Osibisa with Music for Gong Gong. We follow with Cymande's Pon De Dungle, wecross Mobasa's Nariobi woderfoul afrofunk song and we arrive to Ghana with Ebo Taylor, performing Heaven. From Ghana to Nigeria, where Bongos Ikwue & the Groovies played You've Gotta Help Yourself, in 1976. We stay in Nigeria, with a popular Fela Kuti's song, Water Get No Enemy, played by Femi & Positive Force, Macy GRay, Roy Hargroove and more artist in the framework of Red Hot Project. We follow to US where we find Isaac Heyes' Chocolate Chip and a hidden group, Hidden Strange, with the 1975's song It didn't have to b this way. Finally we go back in the time until 1953 with a live performance of Dizzie Gillespie, playing Tin Tin Deo. Enjoy and come back soon to flight with the flying carpet. |
