TheFlyingCarpet Radioshow #7 (14nov08) **Back to Africa**

After two weeks flying trought the States, the carpet come back to Africa taking on board influences and some american musicians. We visit Jony Haastrup, playing West-African funk, and we cross to East-Africa, Nariobi, Kenya, to listen Matata, the best funky group in the country. And finally, we come back to Nigeria, first with Mr Big Mouth, a 12 minute song by Tunde Williams, with Fela Kuti and the almost complet Africa70/Egypt 80. After, we stay with Fela and Egypt 80 in combination with the great US vibraphonist Roy Ayers, combining in a 18 minutes trip of deepness: 2000 Black. African rhythms? Yes! Next stop African Rhythms, hypnotic track of Oneness of Juju. Finally, our tribute to Miriam Makeba & his voice of freedom, Mama Africa on stage until the end: Maria Fulo.
